Closing Empy.ai

I have decided to close Empy.ai 3 months ago.

It started as my pet project in 2022 after I quit Google.

1/ At first it was pure R&D, we have finetuned transformer model to detect fact/evaluations in emails/slack. Spent half a year to polish, 2 weeks after launch, ChatGPT was launched

2/ 2023, launched first commercial app for slack, employee analytics, got first 4000 users. Raised 165k

4/ 2024 split with my co founder team, went all in and applied to Draper University, got accepted. Went to SF to raise, pitch and fulfill my childhood dream. Enjoyed living the “perfect founder life” in Valley.

But dreams got crushed. Most gruesome reality check ever woke me up.
Pretending to be a founder and whole cargo cult around it is delusional lifestyle.
Perfect life ended. Spent entire 165k investment in US.

5/ 2025 went back Yerevan, health issues turned me off for 6 months, then 6 months of hardcore try to vibecode it out whole thing.
Got 1400$ mrr at peak. Not enough to sustain a decent life, new co-founder left to work, cause you can't feed family on that traction.

6/ 2026 came back to consulting businesses ( GTM/Marketing). February 2026, second try to launch Empy solo.
Locked in my room for 3 weeks, vibecoded new swift version. Reading papers, found great mentor Vladimir Borisov to consult me on AI/ML pipelines.
Figured out - no way to build sustainable harness in real time for calls for such complex as I have sold to customers.

May 2026 - closed Empy.
Accepted the fact it is over.
Called Vladimir, invited him to Yerevan to brainstorm what to do next.

He got tickets, arrived to Yerevan and the rest is history.
